Fritz Hansenhas been manufacturing high quality furniture with timeless designs since 1872. The outstanding handicraft and favorable designs, like the Ant chair and Series 7, propelled the manufacturer to worldwide recognition. The designers that work with the company prefer to use sculptural, organic forms, many of them gaining inspiration from nature.

The motivation for theSpace Loungechair came from a very simple place; the imagined feeling of sitting in the palm of a hand. This very simple concept of the chair is inviting and comfortable, and invokes feelings of security and safety.

The chair is constructed from a flexible, reinforced plastic shell which is secured to a steel frame and star shaped base. This one-piece shell design eliminates superfluous material and enables the chair to remain light and slim line, and still retains strength and support. The padded cushions, secured by integrated press studs, are separated into 4 areas providing support and comfort for the back, arms, and buttocks. Slender and minimalist, the Space Loungechair provides comfort without the mass. A charismatic look for waiting areas, lounges, living rooms and lobbies.
